The final Saturday in September is upon us once again and wherever your sporting loyalties may lie there’s no doubt that come Saturday you’ll be in some setting viewing the largest national sporting event in our calendar!
It’s at this time of year that you can find the Rutherford crew spread across the September Club performing in the exclusive marquees that transform the lawns of the MCG. These marquees are the ‘place to be’ when it comes to pre and post game entertainment, and after so many years spent creating these ultimate Grand Final entertainment experiences, we thought it was about time that we shared some of our top tips to help those of you who are hosting your own Grand Final day parties.
It’s safe to say that hosting a Grand Final party is a sacred act! Of course we know that the footy needs to be at the focus, but we also know that the music will make all the difference when it comes to making it a PARTY.
These are the Rutherford’s top tips for creating the ultimate Grand Final day playlist:
Bring your pre-game
Like the start of any good party make sure you have a mix of tracks that set the atmosphere and allow your guests to settle in, mingle and in this case get pumped for the big game!

Be siren ready
It’s all eyes on the game come 2:30pm with the opening bounce, but make sure to be siren ready especially during half time to keep the vibes flowing. (But don’t forget to have a kick of the footy at half time; you know that’s tradition!)
By 5:00pm the drinks will no doubt be flowing and it will be about time to get your self ready for the glory that’s to follow. Make sure to have both teams’ theme songs ready to go so that when that final siren sounds you can hit play and then follow up with some fun favourites that will let your guests know the real party starts NOW.
