Who is Nick Rutherford?
Nick Rutherford was founder and owner of Top Dog Entertainment for 15 years and has recently started his own business, Rutherford Entertainment to specialize in DJs and DJs with a live element.
His passion for music and extensive experience in the industry ensures that his team provide only the best service to all our client’s.
Can we meet to discuss the music before our event?
We are happy to meet with you to discuss the music and running of the night in more detail, just let us know and we can arrange a time convenient for you.
How much experience do your DJs have?
Prior to performing for you, our DJ’s are put though a rigorous training program so you can be assured your DJ is experienced and will do a fantastic job.
How do we select the music for the night? Can we choose our own music?
We recommend discussing the music in detail before the night to ensure we have a good understanding of what you want. This can be done by phone, email or personal consultation and you are able to provide any of your own music if required.
Do you provide a microphone?
We provide a microphone on a lead at every function and you are most welcome to use this for speeches or any announcements during the night. If you would prefer a cordless / roving mic we can organise this for you for a small cost.
What does the DJ wear?
The DJ’s dress code is lounge suit unless advised otherwise.
When does the DJ set up for my event?
We will liaise directly with the venue to organise an appropriate set up time before guests arrive.
Can we see the DJs perform before we book?
As the majority of functions we do are private functions, it is unlikely to see the DJ perform prior the night however if an opportunity arises we would definitely let you know. Additionally, the music is individually catered to each client so we don’t have a “set play list”.
What do you require from us and/or the venue?
We will liaise directly with the venue in terms of our requirements for the night.
Can we extend the finishing time on the night?
You are welcome to extend the finishing time on the night provided you advise the DJ on the night
Can you travel outside of Melbourne?
We can definitely travel outside of Melbourne, please contact us and we can provide a quote.
Can the DJ MC on the night?
The DJ can provide a basic MC service on the night and there is a small fee for this service.
Can we plug in the audio for our projector / laptop into our system?
Our systems have the capability of plugging in the audio for a projector / laptop; we just ask that you discuss this with us prior to the night to ensure we have the appropriate leads.
